Musings of the week

Our week in review.

- I have been working on a schedule/routine that works for my family.  I think I might have found one.  I will report later as I wrote another draft again in the wee hours of the morning.
- I had to rewrite our family chore chart.  Trying to find balance with family chores is very difficult.  The older kids need more study time and I still most definitely need help around the house so I can somehow get it all done.
- Maelyn is getting better with driving.  Saturday she hit the cement wall at the church.  We survived and are safe.  Maelyn is learning to adjust from driving the huge Van and Dads car she misjudged the distance of the brake to the gas.  We all make mistakes while learning to drive and somehow we survive them.
- On the way home from dance class on Saturday Maelyn and Josh were in a car accident.  All the kids in the car are safe and we are glad.  Somehow when Maelyn called and asked me to come get her because they were in a car accident I was able to remain calm.  I guess having so many kids and so many trips to the ER have taught me not to panic.
-The Salt Lake City Library is awesome.  I do miss the Colorado Library system I was spoiled.
- This week we worked on Habit training, Reverence practice.
- We prepared for Conference by listening to a conference talk each day in devotional.
- more study of Penguins, and about explorers.
- We found ways we use math everyday.  Dividing, multiplying, adding, subtracting, estimating, grouping, sorting, patterns.
-  We learned that the Founding Fathers did not always think alike but they worked together to move the cause of Liberty.  They had a united purpose.
- We learned that words are powerful and ideas can be more dangerous than any weapons.
- We learned more about listening to the Spirit and Doing what Heavenly Father wants us to do.
- I fought migraines all week but felt blessed that I could still manage to get things mostly done.
- We are learning no one is perfect.  This is my first time being a mom and I make mistakes and kids make mistakes to and we need to quickly forgive each other
-  We started working on a Family Proclamation study unit.  We are going to memorize the Family Proclamation.
- We learned that it is easier to just get the job done and than to complain about the things that need to be done
- I am learning to live in the present to be real and to Make the best of this gift of today!
- Counting blessings does make you feel better
-  Music soothes the soul, I love music.  I love singing and learning the history behind the composers of the music I enjoy.
-  We learned a lot on you tube this week.  Its amazing the technology of today.
