Today we went out to the Berry Patch Farms in Brighton Colorado with our homeschooling friends. We had bunches of fun. Farmer Tim made our trip wonderful! The kids loved chasing the roosters, chickens, cats and the pot belly pig. We watched a video called the pumpkin circle. It was a cute film about the life cycle of a pumpkin. Then we loaded up in the wagon and went on our hayride. The kids then worked their way through the hay maze. This year they had to crawl through a small hole to get through the maze. Josh took Nicole through too. Then they were allowed to pick any pumpkin they wanted to as long as they could carry it. LOL The kids chose pretty amazingly large pumpkins! Some seemed bigger than the child. After the hayride we learned about bees and how they make honey. Did you know one bee only makes 1/8th of a teaspoon in its lifetime? and that there are 35,000 bees in one hive? After learning about bees we made pumpkin necklaces. The farmer and his wife sculpted each pumpkin by hand starting last January. They made 3,000 of them. Today just made me want to move to a small farm even more. What a wonderful fall day it was.

Hey! Your blog is looking great! I LOVE Berry Patch Farms! I have missed it but we will be moving back closer in less than two weeks. We're moving to Broomfield. And we will be back to living together full time which is something we haven't done in 18 months because of Josh's job. But he got a new one. Thank goodness.
